I am a new hire, what do I need to know about the benefits my employer offers?
Each employer participating in the MCC benefit plans may choose which plans they wish to offer. The employer also determines the employee contribution amount for medical, dental and vision plans. Please check with your employer as to which plans are offered, and their cost to you, if any. Optional life and the Worksite benefits are paid fully by you, the employee.

How do I enroll in my MCC Benefit Plans?
- Option 1: Enroll using MCC Employee Self-Serve. Please see the enrollment guide for instructions.
- Option 2: Call the MCC Benefits Team at 800-395-5565 Monday – Friday between 8:30 am and 4:45 pm.
You must complete your enrollment within 30 days of eligibility/date of hire.
Benefits will become effective on the first of the month following date of hire or if date of hire is the 1st of the month, then they will be effective on date of hire. Note: You must complete the benefit enrollment process with MCC for medical, dental, vision and optional life benefits to become effective.
May I enroll my dependents?
Yes, you may enroll eligible dependents (see Eligibility) in medical, dental, vision and optional life when you are newly eligible, during open enrollment or for certain life events. You must provide required documentation as to eligibility of dependent such as birth certificate, court documents, LDA Certification Form, etc.
How do I submit any required documentation?
Fax documents directly to MCC Benefits at 517-316-3690 or provide to your bookkeeper for submission to MCC.
When can I expect to see ID cards?
You will receive your medical plan card in 10–14 days after completing enrollment. If you enrolled in vision plan, you will received a separate card from BCBSM. Delta Dental cards are available upon request from Delta Dental.
How do enroll in the retirement plan?
Michigan Catholic Conference Lay Employees’ Retirement Plan does not require an active enrollment. If you are an eligible employee you will automatically become a participant.
To begin saving for retirement through the MCC 403(b) Retirement Savings Plan, you may enroll at any time.
